The New Paradigm for African Countries Development (newparadigm4africa)
Almost more than half century has passed after the independency of African countries. However the majority of the leaders of Government of the African countries are totally lost, stumbling in the search for solutions to reduce the astronomical unemployment rate, to eradicate the huge level of poverty of its people, in order to improve the standard of life and create prosperity of all citizens, and achieve the sustainable development of the economy, social and environment conditions of its African countries.
The majority of leadership of African countries, the political and economic elite, have been preaching in vain, time to time again, repeating beautiful slogans, empty of actions, about economy diversification, free education for all, democracy, about the need for improvement of the standard of life of all citizens, the need for employment creation to reduce huge unemployment rate, reduce the huge poverty of its people. However their lack of action prove the lack of political will and lack of knowledge and know-how required to shed the light in the madness, in order to show the way to build a society that is inclusive, rich, democratic, developed, and modern, taking advantage of the creative and innovative capacity of its diverse and vibrant youth, and a resilient population survivor of the countless hardship of the past, imposed by the colonial occupation by western European countries, and by the post-independence conflicts and wars, and by the total disregard of their native governments totally corrupt, unpatriotic and neo-colonialist.
Therefore the big question that arises is: Do African Countries have what it takes to achieve it Sustainable economic, social and environmental Development? The answer is Yes and No!
Let first explore and try to understand way the answer is Yes.
The African countries have a great deal of strategic human resources and uncountable natural resources at it reach, that if well managed can contribute for the obtaining the most needed revenues for investment and the human capital required for the implementation of Smart Core Strategic Programs to eradicate poverty, reduce the high unemployment rate, create wealth, improve of the standard of life of all its citizens and launch the African countries toward sustainable economic, social and environment development.
The African countries have a vibrant youth that if well-educated and well trained can contribute with it creativity and innovative solutions for the achievement of sustainable economic, social and environmental development of all African countries.
The African countries have amazing quantity of astonishing diamonds, great reserves of gold, iron, uranium, crude oil, the strategic indium (the mineral used to fabricate touch screen for modern smart phones, computers, TVs, etc.), and many, many others valuable minerals vital to build a thriving industries, necessary for jobs creation.
The Africa countries have an abundance of more than 60% arable lands in which can grow everything planted on it. The extension of African countries fertile soils, if well-managed have potential to provide the long desired food security to all African countries citizens and the potential to feed all the World. The African countries have splendid big rivers that flow uninterrupted all year long. As per Africa Development Bank “Africa has 65% of the world's remaining uncultivated arable land, an abundance of fresh water and about 300 days of sunshine each year”. All these impressive resources if well managed have the potential of transforming the African countries in the bread basket to fee the all World.
The African countries have countless magnificent tourist sites, a variety of extraordinary big animals in the wild that attract tourists from all over the World. The African countries have amazing sweet wild fruits to enjoy that make the delight of many African kids who venture happily in the forest to collect them when they are ready. The sweet wild fruits have a great potential to be industrialized and commercialized, to prepare delicious ice-creams, juices, delicious jams, soft-drinks and drinks for profit.
The African countries have abundant sources of renewable energy, and it potential exploration with use of new technology will put African countries in the forefront of world sustainable development.
All these resources if well managed could provide billions and billions of US dollars in tax revenues and make the African Countries economies self-sustainable.
Let now explore and try to understand way the answer is No.
Currently, most of revenues, from exploration of the abundant and countless naturals, and minerals resources are mismanaged, misplaced, and wasted, by the leadership of the African Countries Government due to lack of Good Governance, systematic corruption, unpatriotism and neocolonialism attitude of its elite.
In addition many leaders of the Governments of African are incapable to set their countries priorities right. The majority of African countries economies are in downfall spiral and disarray, with the poverty of African families deepening and unemployment rate skyrocketing, especially the youth unemployment rate.
As a result the standards of living of majority of the citizens of African countries are very low, below the poverty line. Surprisingly enough the majority of African countries families are going hungry every day, without nothing to eat for them and their children.
Also a chocking unemployment rate especially among youth, is corroding the very fabric of African countries society, creating waves of disturbance and protest, and a huge flow of youth illegal immigration to developed country, were they are subject to human trafficking abuses, and all sort of mistreatment. Following the decline on the standard of life, the increase of political and economic instability, the African middle class families are packing up their lives and things and fleeing their countries whit direction to their former colonial powers.
While the leaders of Government, Ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Governors and Judges, etc., that make up the elite of African countries, totally insensitive, they pretend not see the increasing level of poverty, the low standard of living, and lack of development affecting the citizens around them, traveling in their most expensive SUVs offered by the Government, ironically as premium for their amazing work they do for the progress and development of their African countries that are totally in disarray. These political-economical elite corrupt, neocolonialist and unpatriotic, they transfer part if not all the funds allocated for the implementation of the country’s infra-structure programs and projects into their personal bank accounts in country and abroad.
Unfortunately these money that the political-administrative-economic elite steal shamelessly, come from selling the country’s natural resources and from funds provided by International Banks and Investment Agencies where some of these African countries leaders show up with hampers in their hands begging for money and support like their poor citizens in the crossing roads, however in more sophisticated way, traveling in private jects, waring expensive smart cloths and full of interesting projects to deceive and lure the international donators.
The leadership and the elite of African countries cannot continue to do nothing and maintain the current “status quo” of mismanagement of it resources, growing systematic corruption that is causing a lot of misery and suffering for the citizens and continue pushing African countries to a deep abyss of underdevelopment.
The current “status quo” is unsustainable and will send the African countries on spiral of unprecedented political, economic crisis, of uncontrollable social proportions, some which we have already seen it in the making, in some African countries, such as the big windstorm known as “Arab Spring”, a youth movement that destroyed powerful African Governments (e.g. Egypt, Libya), as well as, the serials “coup d'état” taking place in many African countries over and over again (e.g. the Republic of Mali, Burkina Faso, etc.), that are destroying democratically elected Government, also the ongoing wars between military factions (e.g. Sudan) which has claimed many precious human lives, and the destruction of the country infra-structures and private properties that have been built with a lot of sacrifices, and have displaced and sent millions of people to unwanted and forced exile.
The ongoing conflict and violence between the Congolese Army and the rebels of M23 in the North Kivu Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo (RDC) has created a lot of suffering and has displaced approximately 400,000 people, in spite of all effort of the Government of the African countries, United Nations (UN) and other superpower countries.
The African continent is bleeding profusely in every places and corners due self-inflicted wounds, ongoing conflict, wars, mala-administration, bad management of its natural resources, high unemployment rate especially of its youth, extreme poverty of the majority of its citizens, unjustified and shocking famine, imposed by its corrupt, antipatriotic and neocolonialist elite, that are displacing and killing silently thousands and thousands of its citizens mercilessly, children, youth and adults. All this suffering is aggravated by the drastic effect caused by the climate change, draught, flooding, cyclone, and landslide.
There is any hope? The answer is a strong Yes.
Yes, there is a hope if the Leaders of African countries, the Politician, the Members of Parliament (MPs), the Judges, the Ministers, the Governors, the youth, all the citizens, have a patriotic attitude and work together in synergy and in collaborative manner, toward one cause, the sustainable economic, social and environmental development of their African countries. For this to happen, the leadership of African countries, need to abandon the current “status quo” and adopt and implement “the new paradigm for the sustainable economic and social, and environmental development for the African countries”.
The new paradigm for the sustainable economic and social, and environmental development for the African countries is a set of Smart Core Strategic Programs within the framework of objectives of the sustainable development of African Countries Vision 2030, and Africa Union (AN) Agenda 2063.
Therefore the African countries need a “new paradigm” in order to change their fortune and launch their countries toward sustainable development. The patriotic leadership of African Countries Government, need to work hard and apply Good Governance on the implementation of the Smart Core Strategic Programs for the improvement of the standard of living of it citizens, promote business creation opportunity to increase wealth and health of its citizens, reduce unemployment, and to achieve sustainable development.
The Smart Core Strategic Programs that can contribute for the improvement of the standard of life of the citizens, reduction of unemployment rate, reduction of poverty and the achievement of the sustainable development of African countries if implement in total are the following, but not limited to:
The African countries have enough natural resources that if well managed and used to implement the Smart Core Strategic Programs have the potential to launch the African countries into sustainable development path.
The patriotic leadership of the Government of African countries should create a National Development Found with contribution of at least 10% of all revenue from the production and exportation of all natural resources of their countries every year in a systematic and consistent manner, in order to implement the Smart Core Strategic Programs using their own funds and to not continuing begging and relaying from the charity of the developed countries.
The leaders of Governments of African countries don’t need to walk around with their hands stretched begging for financial aid or economic help, from developed countries. We have all it takes to achieve better standard of living for our people and to achieve sustainable development for our countries, in our own right.
We have abundant and countless natural resources, astonishing quantity of minerals, countless magnificent tourist sites, big rivers and lakes, giant forests and savannas, abundant land of fertile soils, and an amazing human resources with dynamic and vibrant youth, and if given the opportunity, with hard work and commitment from every one, with help of a patriotic Government leadership, and its patriotic political elite, and all patriotic citizens, the African countries can change the current “status quo” of misery, suffering, low standard of living and underdevelopment, to the developed countries full happiness and prosperity for all citizens.
We will discuss the Smart Core Strategic Programs in more detail in our next blog of the newparadigm4africa.
It is imperative for the leadership of each African Countries to create Food Security Program, and African Countries Emergence Response Plans to deal with draught, flooding, landslide and any unusual situations in theirs and across all African Countries and all the countries in the World.
It’s urgent for the leadership and all politicians of all African countries to work hard in order to stop ongoing war between military factions in Sudan, the ongoing rebel war in the East of DRC, that are causing the displacement of thousands of citizens and create thousands of refugees, as well as to stop ongoing hunger, famine, poverty, unemployment, and lack of basic infrastructure and implement the Smart Core Strategic Programs to improve the standard of life of every citizens, achieve peace and to achieve the sustainable development of African countries, therefore all the Africans daughters and sons can together say proudly in loud voice from this day and beyond HAPPY AFRICAN DAY!
Together We Can!
